1. What is the adopted fire and life safety code?

The adopted fire and life safety code is the 2015 Edition of the International Fire Code and the 2015 edition of the NFPA Life Safety Code.

2. Is the fire station staffed 24 hours a day

The Merrionette Park Fire Department is staffed with two certified firefighter/emergency medical technicians 24 hours per day. On major incidents and/or multiple calls our manpower is supplemented with paid-on-call members.

3. What number should I dial if I need the fire department or ambulance?

Always call 911 for any fire department or ambulance needs.

1. When are the village meetings?

• The second Wednesday of every month is the Public Safety Meeting at 7 p.m. and the Committee meeting is at 7:30. 
• The Regular Vilalge Board Meeting is the third Wednesday of every month starting at 7:30. 
• All Meeting are held at the Village Hall.

2. When is garbage day?

Garbage collection occurs every Wednesday morning. We recommend bringing garbage cans out Tuesday night.

3. What is the speed limit on residential streets?

The speed limit is 20 miles per hour (mph).

1. I am new to the village how long do I have to purchase a village sticker?

New residents have 30 days, upon moving into the Village, to obtain a valid Village vehicle sticker. This applies regardless of whether there is a current vehicle sticker issued from the former municipality or not. A full year or half year sticker will be issued depending upon the time you move into the Village.

2. When do I have to notify the Secretary of State to change my license plates?

Illinois Law requires that the Secretary of State’s office be notified within 10 days of any change of address within the state. New residents from out of the State have 30 days to file a change of address.
